Recap MLB 07 - Game 4

Wakefield goes six strong. A good strong outing by Wakefield today, I'll take 6 innings with only 1 earned run every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Too, bad the bats couldn't match his pitching, oh that's right, I predicted they would suck against Tejeda.

Okajima and Snyder did well also as they put up 2 innings of no runs. A fairly quick game also as it went 2:14 hours. In today's game that is lightning fast.

In some ways this season has been snake bit as far as pitching match ups. As I stated in the Game 1 preview, it could be ugly in KC since Schilling's last two outings in KC had produced an 8.02 ERA. If this hadn't been opening day, its possible that Schilling doesn't even pitch. Then of course you have the Wakefield history in Texas. That is two games based on stats where you wish that it had been different starting pitchers.

Why I want Coco batting 2nd (.312 BA and .357 OBA) and Youkilis batting 6th (.389 BA and .421 OBA). Top of the eight and Youkilis hits a dribbler down the line with Lugo on 1b, Blalock throws Youk out by a 1/2 step. Same situation, Coco hits the same type of ground ball and its 1st and 2nd with 1 out and Papi coming up to bat.

Sox fall into tie for first with the Yankees and Toronto playing later tonight.
