Game thoughts!
Lester puts the team in a hole with a 2 run 1st and a 2 run 2nd and overall, goes 5 1/3 innings with 94 pitches thrown. Still, Lester was in position to get the win thanks to the fifth inning comeback and scoreless pitching by Aardsma and Okajima.
Now normally I'll take my chances with Papelbot in the 9th inning, but even though his Fastball was over 94 mph, everything seemed to be high to me. Including the splitter that he threw to Lamb (pitch was hit just above the knee) after the break, that pitch needs to be diving out of the zone, but it stayed high. 2 games, 2 blown saves for the bot. Not what we needed.
Factoid - since 2001 the record in Red Sox / Twins games at the Metrodome is 7-15. Surprisingly, the overall era is 4.38 for the Sox (3.22 for Twins) in those 22 games. Leading winners for the Twins, Radke 4-0, Santana 3-1 and all others only have 1 win.
♊ - Morbid and creepifing I can handle as long as we do it quiet like.
