Schilling - A look Back

Just some comments found on the web with most coming from Curt's own blog. After all is said and done, I fully expect it to be 55-45 haters to lovers. I also expect Shaughnessey and other columnists to have a field day tomorrow.

"Maybe you should donate a significant portion of your salary (5 million?) to charity." - Idiot

"Maybe Johnny Damon gave you some pointers?" - Jackass

"You are a BumB who got lucky, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez will all be in cooperstown before you, thats if you ever make it." - really classy there yankee fan.

"you should have given up a couple years ago, but as seeing as how you are whats wrong with baseball, and since it is all about the money, you just hung around. glad to see you go…." - Why he doesn't delete these comments I will never know.

"he fleeced the Sox" - Fleeced?

"i hope he packs his family up,including charming bride leather face and moves to fucking idaho or nebraska or some other aryan nation depot where he can tout the value of war with a captive audience of like minded morons." Comment #18.

Just for some perspective: Curt Schilling went 3-1 on the road in the '04 and '07 playoffs and 3-0 at home during that time period.

Overall Curt was 6-1 in 46 2/3 innings allowing 17 earned runs in 8 starts. That is a 3.28 ERA and he had a 1.18 WHIP in those games. If you remove his first start in New York in the '04 playoffs those numbers drop to 6-0, 11 earned runs, a 2.27 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. Curt has earned every cent the Sox have paid him.
